ABOUT MARK SHILLITO

I\'m a London-based, disputes-led IP lawyer and commercial advisor, with over 30 years\' experience in the TMT, pharmaceutical and FMCG sectors, amongst others. I counsel on the management of business risk and enjoy resolving significant commercial, policy and people issues and the legal disputes around them (with or without the need for litigation). I\'ve done so successfully for many years, for clients as diverse as Apple, BSkyB, ITV, easyJet, Eisai, MRC, Vodafone and The Wellcome Trust. I build and lead strong, successful and fulfilling teams - on legal cases, for transactions, in management groups and for special projects. I believe in “doing business well”, playing to the team’s strengths and getting the best out of people. I spend at least as much of my time with others listening as I do speaking. I find I learn more that way. A veteran of international law firm operational, main and executive boards, I was previously a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills for 25 years, where I led the UK/US Disputes practice from 2012 to 2018 and the Global Intellectual Property Practice from 2011 – 2020.
