About Mark Newman

I am a valuable resource for some of the top retailers and shopping center owners in the U.S, where my practice has extended beyond local and regional trade areas to include much of the nation. I have negotiated over nine million square feet of space for my clients saving them an estimated $18 million in negotiated rent payouts and over $200 million in 60+ land acquisitions. I joined JLL in January 2013 and have over 37 years of professional real estate experience. My professional background includes working as a key partner at Cornerstone Commercial Real Estate and serving as an executive vice president at Staubach Retail and then SRS. During my time at Cornerstone, my business partner, Clay Smith, and I completed over 120 Computer City leases throughout the United States and Canada. My focus is on advising regional and national retail users and developers of real estate. I assisted In-N-Out Burger and Wachovia Bank on their entry into the Dallas/Ft. Worth market and recently represented Albertson\'s/Tom Thumb in opening three new supermarkets. I also assisted Archon Group in the redevelopment of Prestonwood Town Center.
