About Mark Koni Wright
While most people can claim depth to their experience and education within their discipline, I am better characterized by breadth across disciplines as well as depth within. I am truly transdiciplinary with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and doctoral degree in Genetics, 6 years of professional programming experience accumulated between these degrees and significant coursework and experience in statistics throughout my career. I am often the problem solver in a group environment as a direct result of having a broad educational background and work experience to draw on, but also from having many ideas to offer. I often function as a \"translator\" between different disciplines as many of the projects and teams I have worked on employ people highly specialized in one of molecular biology, quantitative genetics, population genetics, statistics, software engineering, dev ops (infrastructure), and information management (database administration) and I have significant experience in all of these areas. I understand the mindsets or perspectives different folks may have coming to the table from different types of specialties and domain knowledge, and I understand the nature of technical limitations often encountered in each of these domains while most others do not, except for their own area of expertise. I can reliably bridge these divides and serve in the capacity of multiple different roles within the same project or serve in different roles across multiple projects.
