I’ve always had one foot in engineering and the other in entrepreneurship.After two decades in corporate leadership roles, I wanted to build something real.Something I could shape from the ground up.Something that reflected how I see quality, design, and service.In 2016, I founded Atom Group to develop high-quality residential and commercial assets with strong fundamentals, strong design DNA, and measurable uplift potential. Atom Group has evolved into a group capable of acquiring, designing, building and operating assets with a clear commercial strategy and defined exit routes.It started small. One project at a time.But the vision kept growing.In 2023, I acquired 22 Queen Street, the former Bonhams headquarters in Edinburgh, and transformed it into The Auction Rooms, a hospitality-led serviced workspace designed for professionals seeking more than just a desk.People said it was risky.A listed building with big renovation costs and a crowded market.They were right!But it worked.Today, The Auction Rooms is home to a thriving mix of businesses and is already recognised as one of Edinburgh’s most distinctive workspaces.That success laid the foundation for Mota, our operating company that will take this model to new sites across the UK and Europe.Through Mota, the goal is to blend hospitality, design, and enterprise-grade infrastructure into spaces where businesses want to be and where landlords want to partner.The challenge of doing things differently drives me.Turning bold ideas into sustainable businesses.Building teams that care about detail.And creating environments that perform, both commercially and creatively, and in a human way.
