ABOUT MARK LALONDE
Mark has local, national and global experience in a continuum of public safety, risk and security domains including overseas police capacity development, police and private security governance, enterprise risk management and business continuity planning. As the former Chief Safety & Risk Officer for Simon Fraser University Mark championed safety, the identification, management and mitigation of risk and compliance for a community of students, faculty, researchers and staff. This included oversight and implementation of related policies, guiding principles, foresight and processes that enhance a culture of safety. Mark has worked in the private sector focusing on risk and security as well as working with various United Nations organizations in support of police reform and criminal justice capacity building in the Middle East, East Africa, the Caribbean and South East Asia.
