Congo, Papua New Guinea, and Jordan, where he served for 12 years as CEO of Generations For Peace, a global peacebuilding organisation with peacebuilders in 52 countries. Mark graduated magna cum laude from University of Oxford Saïd Business School & HEC Paris (MSc); Université Lyon 1 (MA); University of Edinburgh (LLB-Hons; DipLP); and Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He has certificates in Transformative Dialogue (Nansen Centre for Peace and Dialogue); Community Dispute Resolution (Colorado State University); Non-Violent Communication (Centre for Nonviolent Communication); Conflict Resolution, Transformation & Peacebuilding (International Centre for Parliamentary Studies); Group Relations (Tavistock Institute); and AI (University of Oxford). Mark began his career as a corporate lawyer in the UK and India. He served as a British Army Officer and with the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
