About Mark Sargeant
My focus is on the earliest publishing questions: when games are still forming, signals are incomplete, and teams need to make real decisions before clarity fully arrives. At Riot Games, I partner with teams in incubation and pre-production to help them make the calls that matter early: who the game is really for, what emotional payoff it’s delivering, and which publishing bets are worth committing to before everything is known. My work sits across audience definition, player insight, and early go-to-market strategy. Turning incomplete signals into clear direction teams can act on.I’m at my best when things are ambiguous and opinions differ. I help teams see the player more clearly, surface the real tradeoffs, and commit to a direction earlier than feels comfortable - but for the right reasons. I care deeply about audience motivation and emotional resonance, but I’m equally focused on turning insight into action and making games that can actually be shipped. My early years at Riot were on the ground in Southeast Asia, where I spent considerable time being close to players, and taking a region from 0 to 1.I tend to push for clarity without losing empathy. I like to challenge teams hard, stay on their side, and help create momentum when things feel stuck.
