   The mission of Gaston County EMS is to \"Preserve Life and Promote Safety\" in all areas of medical care. When responding to a multitude of diverse emergency situations, the use of skills, training, and knowledge are vital to the success of each assignment. Preparedness, proficiency, pride and compassion are all elements of this rewarding line of work. A list of daily duties includes: Receiving dispatch notifications with home addresses or rural locations of incidents from 911 callers, responding to these areas to provide medical attention to patients and triage multi-patient scenes, implement the use of advanced and technical equipment such as (mechanical CPR devices, cardiac monitors, traction devices, extremity splints, etc.), load and treat patients in the back of our ambulances as necessary, have good working relationships with the public and other agencies at emergency scenes, provide emotional support to all people affected, transport patients to medical facilities for further in-depth treatment, and lastly to record detailed information on internet based medical reports following each incident that records all supplies used as well as all medical history and interventions done at each call we respond to.
