About Mark Christiansen
I have always had a fascination with computers and electronics. What started as modifying and building computers in highschool eventually led to me studying computer engineering at Kansas State University. While getting my degree, I had the opportunity to work in roles that gave me a diverse experience in embedded systems, hardware design, and high level software development. All of this led to my current role as an electrical engineer developing FPGA based solutions for test equipment at Honeywell FM & T. I am also responsible for overseeing the manufacture and validation of a hardware component for use in our test equipment.Prior to this role, I was an intern at Sandia National Laboratories. I was responsible for testing safety-critical software for an autonomous flight safety system. I rewrote flight code for increased testability and created code to mock critical parts of our system for testing purposes. The bulk of this project was done in C++ with the project running on a real-time operating system. This followed my role as an undergraduate research assistant at Kansas State University on a project funded by Sandia. My main responsibility was supporting physical testing for the autonomous flight safety system mentioned above. I performed a hardware derating analysis of the system which caught several critical design errors prior to production. I also developed a prototype PCB schematic for a test jig designed to validate the system. Before my work with Sandia, I worked as a Student Web Developer for Kansas State University, specifically for the Agronomy department. My main responsibility was developing programs and scripts in Python. These scripts populated data for web pages that displayed the historical weather data in Kansas. If you would like to know more about me, feel free to send me a connection request or a message!
