Marketa leads Sidley Austin LLP\'s Immigration group, advising employers on workforce strategy and visa processing programs to best attract and retain specialized talent. She advises companies on I-9 compliance and represents them in government workplace enforcement actions. She provides immigration advice related to mergers and acquisitions. She represents U.S. and global corporations, universities, start-ups, non-profit organizations and high net-worth individuals.In 2020, Marketa completed a one-year term as elected national President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She continues to be actively involved in national efforts to change our immigration laws to stimulate economic growth, help families reunite and promote due process. She is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce\'s immigration policy committee. She has appeared on television, radio and print about developments in immigration law. She provides pro bono advice to several Chicago-area cultural institutions and to organizations that provide assistance to underserved immigrant communities. Marketa was previously an adjunct professor at Loyola University School of Law. She is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences on business immigration and compliance issues. She is a primary author of the Business Immigration Law treatise and has contributed to numerous AILA publications.
