   In short, at Rocket Mortgage I make complicated problems both less complicated and more understandable. Mortgages are hard, it turns out! Thus far I have worked on internal tooling that supports various folks that have very deep, very specific knowledge in the mortgage industry. And everybody needs help breaking down those problems to something more manageable - the team members in operations, the development team, Product leadership, the UX team - everybody! That\'s what I get to do!More specifically - so far I\'ve had the chance to work on a number of different projects ranging throughout the mortgage origination process. Currently I\'m in the Capital Markets space, helping reduce risk for Rocket Mortgage on loans that are going through the trading process after closing. I continue to make heavy use of my UX background through research and empathy-building, as well as being able to whip up a flowchart or otherwise \"visual aid\" to help steer a conversation to consensus.Bullet-point highlights:• Launched multiple projects that automate tedious and error-prone work reviewing documents for accuracy - reducing risk for the company, and freeing up thousands of hours of team member time to work on more engaging problems.• Heavily leveraged LLMs in automation projects, and have spent a lot of time in the nuance of prompts to help the LLM understand both mortgage documents and business needs.• Worked both tactically with the dev team - building user stories, leading story refinement sessions - and strategically across the org - maintaining and evangelizing roadmaps, facilitating prioritization sessions with six (!) different business teams at the same time, and long-term planning sessions.• Built and maintained a wide variety of artifacts including roadmaps, service blueprints, wireframes / designs, and flowcharts.• Led the effort around Product-centric internal documentation for team members across the organization to self-serve key Product information.
