As a Developer Coach, I am responsible for the delivery of suitable training for software developers. A heavy part of my role involves supporting early-career developers (apprentices, grads, career changers) and those that support them. This requires a good understanding of learning styles, a dynamic skillset around appropriate ways to communicate, and plenty of empathy. While working with developers, I advocate for the craft of coding, including clean/SOLID code, meaningful TDD and software architecture. I support formal qualifications such as apprenticeships and certifications. I provide feedback and mentoring. I help to continually improve our recruitment practices, and contribute to strategy around our talent planning and the external partnerships we utilise.
