About Mark Boccia
I am a Global Learning and Workforce Development Executive focused on helping large organizations turn AI from curiosity into practical business application. Across Amazon, Royal Caribbean, and Marriott, I have spent my career working at the intersection of learning, talent, organizational change, and enterprise transformation. My current focus is AI enablement: helping leaders and teams build the confidence, habits, and judgment needed to use AI in ways that improve how work gets done. I do not approach AI as a tool-training exercise. I help leaders move beyond isolated experimentation by identifying where AI can strengthen decision-making, improve writing and analysis, reduce repetitive work, and create more capacity for higher-value thinking. My role is not to redesign work for teams myself, but to help leaders recognize opportunities, make better choices, and build momentum through practical experimentation. My approach centers on three levers: 1. Workforce activation: I simplify AI into practical skills people can use immediately, helping skeptics become everyday users who apply judgment to outputs and gain value in the flow of work. Team-level work evolution: I help leaders examine where AI can improve execution, decision support, and day-to-day team practices so it becomes part of how work happens, not an occasional side task. Executive fluency and scaling: I partner with senior leaders to use AI more strategically, connect adoption to business outcomes, and put the right guardrails in place for responsible, compliant use. What makes this work stick is not just the learning experience itself, but the momentum plan that follows: practice loops, peer reinforcement, and leader modeling that turn initial experimentation into repeatable habits. I am known for translating complex challenges into clear narratives that leaders can act on. I build trust across functions, connect the frontline to the C-suite, and help organizations move through transformation with both ambition and practicality. I thrive in complex, highly regulated global environments and bring a commercial mindset to designing strategies that are useful, scalable, and grounded in business reality. If you are working on AI enablement, workforce capability, leadership adoption, or new ways of working at enterprise scale, let’s connect.
Experience
Senior Manager - Global Operations Learning & Development
Jan 2020 — Present · US
I spearhead AI enablement and workforce transformation across Amazon’s Global Operations and Global PXT (Human Resources) functions. Operating as a lead architect within a 1.8-million-employee matrix, I transition fragmented AI pilots into scalable operating systems for Level 4 to Level 10 (Manager to VP) leaders worldwide.Systems-Level Transformation: Co-architected the Global AI Accelerator (GAIA) strategy, establishing the first enterprise-wide AI baseline for all L4+ employees. Designed self-enforcing operating systems and visibility gates that complement local programs to systematically measure adoption and tie AI usage to business ROI.Executive Fluency & Governance: Directed a global strategic alignment forum for cross-regional leaders to solve implementation gaps and access inequity. Partnering with Executive Development, I launched AI² Intensives targeting 1,200 L8+(Director/VP) executives, closing the \"leadership credibility gap\" by coaching them to sponsor AI as a strategic capability.Workforce Activation: Leading curriculum design for the GenAI, 10X Sprint, and activating localized Gen-AIR training modules. This strategy drove 5-6x higher AI adoption and application in targeted organizations. I personally instruct executives to demystify AI and embed it into daily workflows.Global Workforce Redesign: As Single-Threaded Leader, redesigned capabilities for PXT professionals across 8 business lines in 25 countries. Executed agile upskilling portfolios (500+ activities annually) under strict resource constraints.Talent Density: Amazon Bar Raiser contributing to 300+ executive and operational hiring decisions.
