About Mark Young

Mark Young is a Senior Advisor with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC in Houston, Texas. Previously he served as a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal for over 15 years and served as the Head of Tax for the firm\'s Houston office specializing in income tax matters. His primary areas of concentration include tax advisory, tax planning, compliance, and financial reporting. He has served multi-national clients in a variety of industries, including energy, technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, aviation, tax-exempts, professional services, health care, and insurance. He also has experience dealing with tax matters associated with private equity sponsored portfolio companies as well as high net worth individuals. In addition, he also has served as the firm\'s Global Energy Tax Service Line Leader.Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, he was a Manager in PwC\'s Industry Service Group tax practice in Houston. Previously, he worked in both E&Y’s Washington, D.C. National Tax Department and the firm’s Dallas office. Mr. Young earned his bachelor’s degree in Business from Washington University in St. Louis. He also earned a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Mr. Young is a member of the State Bar of Texas, a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas, and a member of the Houston Bar Association (Tax Section).He has been actively involved in cancer and youth related charities, including serving as board member of The Children’s Fund and Young Texans Against Cancer. He has also served on the board of The FORGE for Families.
