About Mark Begert
I am the CEO and Co-founder of FabuLingua - a powerful new approach to language learning for children. Language isn\'t memorized. It\'s absorbed - through the power of story.FabuLingua is a story-based game that is the most effective way for teachers to teach and for kids to learn a second language. It\'s based on our science-backed patent that helps kids acquire new languages naturally and subconsciously - like their native language.Learning a new language opens doors in life. Our mission is to give children the unique advantage of learning a new language effectively. Our deep understanding of the science behind second language acquisition and what motivates children to learn a new language informs the design of our innovative pedagogy to spark a child\'s love for learning languages.Traditional early language learning methods have struggled to be effective and scalable, relying on outdated teaching methods - such as memorization and repetitive drills designed to pass exams - that quickly lead to disengagement and frustration among students.Neuroscience research has shown that the earliest stages of language learning are critical for long-term success. FabuLingua has designed an innovative, science-backed approach that focuses on making language learning fun and interactive, using game design and stories to help teachers, tutors, and families engage children and keep them motivated.By tapping into a child\'s natural curiosity and sense of play, this approach can create a positive association with language learning that can last a lifetime. Before FabuLingua, I have been a start-up to public company operations and finance executive specializing in early and growth stage challenges - business model definition, capital raising, go-to-market strategy, partnership/business development, and corporate transactions. I have led the growth and maturation of investor-backed companies in the technology, energy, and consumer sectors, raising $100 million + in angel, venture, and public equity for 3 companies. I have worked with private and public company executive teams, boards, and investors. I have a BA from Harvard and serve on the Board of start-up, coop, and non-profit organizations. I am fortunate to spend most of my time with my family of four, around interesting/fun/inspiring friends, and enjoying outdoors/sports/travel.
