In 2004 I founded the 501c3 Patriotic Hearts. It was the result of a US Marine knocking on my door and asking if I had any chores he could do to earn enough to pay his young family’s utility bill. That inspired me to create a free local One Day/ Off Duty job board for residents and businesses to employ them temporarily to assist with any chores around their homes, yards, and businesses, HirePatriots.com. That site also provides a worldwide job board for the employment of US Veterans and their spouses. In addition, we began hosting multiple large job fairs on San Diego military bases. And in 2017 we began a business startup program for US Veterans, US Military Maintenance/ US Military Clean.(US Veterans who own businesses employ other US Veterans.) We have locations in 42 states, so far. Our employment efforts have resulted in many thousands of US Military, Veterans, and their spouses being employed. Our efforts have received prestigious awards, including medals from US Presidents, National TV News exposure, being featured in People Magazine, and San Diego’s “Visionary Award” for stimulating its local economies. Too, in 2011 when we learn that US Marine combat veterans had a “90% divorce rate from Private to Sergeant,” we began hosting free, 3 -day Military Marriage Retreats at a 4-star hotel in Oceanside Harbor, across from Camp Pendleton Marine Base. This has saved dozens of marriages and families. Patriotic Hearts has several other programs to assist US veterans and the employers that hire them too. In order to engage as many US Veterans, Employers, and US Citizens as is possible that support them, we create fresh content daily, posts, articles, and videos. Our goal is to elevate the lives of as many people as possible. Our efforts and endeavors are unending. – Mark Baird
