About Mark Alexander Grossman

I\'m a scientist with a research background in infectious disease (HIV-1), T-cell immunology and molecular biology, with some training in biochemistry from undergraduate. Innovation is my passion, and I want to help create effective and safe immunotherapies to treat (or cure) human diseases. My professional goal is to build myself into a leader, visionary, and innovator of next-generation precision medicines.During my doctoral work, I:• independently completed projects•developed protocols•trained colleagues•spearheaded a highly challenging & complex thesis project that was outside the lab’s traditional scope• applied critical thinking, problem-solving, and deep attention to detail to troubleshoot and overcome many technical obstacles in a challenging gene therapy/infectious disease setting•analyzed and critiqued complex data•formulated logical conclusions to advance progress in the field•developed interpersonal skills through working with a diverse group •developed communication skills through delivering over 50 oral presentations and 1 conference poster presentation In my current role as a Postdoctoral Associate at WCM, I\'m working on several projects with the aim to develop vaccines and therapies for Lynch Syndrome-associated and sporadic DNA mismatch repair-deficient cancers.

   Lab of Dr. Julie Blander Research focus is on developing new treatments (small molecule or biologic therapeutics, as well as immunoprevention) for patients with Lynch Syndrome, a genetic predisposition to mismatch repair-deficient (MMRD) cancers (most often GI tumors, e.g. colorectal) and sporadic MMRD tumor patients.
