Sr. Advisor, one of several PM\'s managing SCE\'s grid interconnection process for both the State CPUC jurisdictional,\"tariff Rule 21\", FERC jurisdictional \"Wholesale Distribution Access Tariff (WDAT)\" and the CAISO \"Transmission Owner Tariff (TOT)\" tariffs. These tariffs provide the rules and processes to interconnect small customer owned generators to very large merchant generation facilities. Our group is responsible for receiving Interconnection requests (applications) and coordinating many required steps for technical review, interconnection study, contract origination and the design, engineering and construction of required interconnection Added Facilities. Generation technologies include Solar PV, Concentrated Solar PV (CPV), Thermal Solar, Wind, Fuel Cells, Biomass and Biogas technologies, Geothermal, Small Hydro, Natural Gas, Diesel and Biogas powered internal combustion engines, Cogenerators, gas turbines, combustion turbines and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Typical nameplate generation sizes start at ~5 kilowatt up to 20 megawatts (MW) and even larger. This position is fast paced, interesting and engaging. Many rules, regulations and technical knowledge are required to perform this job. Due to the focus and importance of developing large amounts of Renewable energy supplies in California,(RPS) our company and our group have experienced large increases of interconnection requests.
