The goal of the Northern Michigan Angels is to grow the economic base of Northern Michigan by facilitating investment that fills the gap between “friends and family” and traditional VC financing for companies in the Northern Michigan area. Northern Michigan Angels is a nonprofit corporation that does not make direct investments or investment decisions on behalf of members. However, we facilitate educational and networking opportunities for businesses and members of the local venture capital industry to foster funding and assistance from Northern Michigan Angels in early-stage companies. This allows the companies to accomplish critical growth milestones that will make it attractive for a larger follow-on venture capital financing or strategic acquisition sometime in the future.
