Responsible for the Internal Audit (IA) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function at World Vision Canada (WVC). Duties include establishing, leading, and directing an IIA function to enhance and protect organizational value by providing stakeholders with independent, data-based, objective audit and risk insights/monitoring. In this critical function I provide value to enhance the operations of the organization in a collaborative manner with a variety of stakeholders. Highly effective in the position, by possessing the rare ability to analyze complexity situations and distill down to simple solutions that are both cost effective and efficient. I bring a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of WVC\'s risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. Enterprise Risk Management • Assists the Board and management in the discharge of their ERM responsibilities by ensuring there is an objective review on key corporate risks. • Provides leadership in the area of risk identification and risk assessment and advises the management and the Board risk management approach and risk communications strategy. • Developed a framework and methodology for identifying and assessing risks at the Corporate level. Internal Audit • Directs the establishment of a WVC strategy for Internal Audit that outlines the performance expectations and operations of the function and guides the development of long-term and annual risk-based Internal Audit plans. • Integrates with the ongoing corporate risk assessment process and ensures the development with an understanding of WVC’s context and business model. • Designs and conducts audit engagements to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of WVC’s risk management, control, and governance processes. • Reports to the Audit Committee on individual audit engagements and comprehensively on overall audit results.
