On a whim in 2012 I decided to write a novel—Scrapyard Ship. I had it published on Amazon and it shot up to #1 becoming an instant Amazon Science Fiction bestseller. Now I\'m a full-time author. As of 2024, I have published forty-three novels—each has also gone on to become a best-seller in multiple genres and is available in print, e-book, and audiobook formats. Before my life as an author, I was an indie filmmaker. In 2011 I directed/produced the popular feature film \'Openings - The Search for Harry\'. The film was picked up by the worldwide distributor GaiamTV. Earlier, for years I worked at high-tech companies (such as Harris Corp.) as a technical writer then worked my way up to Sr. Management level positions. But early on I caught the entrepreneurial bug and went on to co-found several businesses including WGD-Media, a new media creative agency in Hollywood, CA that primarily catered to the film industry. I produced several national TV infomercials and executive produced a TV pilot called Dishfunctional. I opened another business called Creativations - a unique manufacturer of outdoor lighting products, including the very popular Magical Fireflies. Creativations Fireflies were used in motion pictures as well as by everyday consumers to bring a little romantic magic to nighttime environments. Eventually, WGD-Media closed and I moved my business to Boulder, Colorado, and opened Avenstar—a full-service film and TV production/marketing co. Our niche was being unique storytellers which transcended over to our film and commercial businesses, our feature film productions, client TV advertising, and corporate communications. I do collaborate with other authors if the project feels interesting to me, and I jump over to scriptwriting—Scrapyard Ship has been converted into a screenplay and is awaiting the perfect producer to take it to the silver screen or a TV screen for a series -).
