ABOUT MARK H. SWARTZ
Since 1978, I have been teaching clinical skills. My \"Textbook of Physical Diagnosis: History & Examination\" was first published in 1989. It is now in its Seventh Edition (2014) and is the standard textbook in its field in the USA. It has been translated into 17 languages, most recently into Chinese (2016) by the Peking Union Medical College Press.Since 1991, I have been involved with standardized patient (SP) methodology. I founder The Morchand Center for Clinical Competence at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1991. The research conducted over the next seven years provided the building blocks for the national medical licensing exams: ECFMG CSA (1998) & USMLE Step 2CS (2004).In 2003, I left Mount Sinai and established C3NY, Clinical Competence Center of New York which works with local medical schools to prepare SP programs used throughout the curriculum. In addition we offer a monthly, three day course to prepare international medical graduates to take the USMLE Step 2CS exam.
