ABOUT MARK SOSSI

Mark Sossi is an experienced governmental affairs and courtroom attorney who takes pride in representing his clients with both ethics and passion. Mark graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a minor in International Relations. He was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army Reserve upon graduation. Mark also attended St Mary’s University School of Law where he was the recipient of an American Jurisprudence award for academic excellence. He was honorably discharged from the US Army Reserve after serving nine years as a commissioned officer. He has served both as an Assistant District Attorney in Harris County and with the Texas Attorney Generals Office. Mark has represented numerous cities and counties in the courtroom through both Texas Municipal League and the Texas Association of Counties. In 1996, Mark served as a lead counsel in an appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; successfully reversing what was then the largest civil rights verdict ever taken against Cameron County.( Flores vs Cameron County, 92 F.3d 258 (5th Cir. 1996)) Mark been involved in a number of high profile civil cases; one being the successful representation of six American hostages held as human shields during the First Iraqi Gulf War. Mark has also been very successful championing his clients causes on matters before the Texas State Legislature. Mark is a founding partner of Troiani and Sossi PLLC. He currently serves as City Attorney for the city of Harlingen, Texas. He also serves as board counsel to several economic development corporations and Brownsville Affordable Homeownership Corporation. Mark served as city attorney for the City of Brownsville ( pop. for over a decade prior to confounding his present firm.
