ABOUT MARK SKENE

A highly motivated and results driven commercial / contract lead with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, the majority having been within the oil & gas, infrastructure/renewables and heavy engineering sectors. Having worked on a variety of projects, both in complexity and value through all EPSCC stages (Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Construction and Commissioning), providing a range of pre and post Contracts Engineering / Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management and Contract Administration duties including;• ITT preparation • Tender review & evaluation, estimating, award• Target cost negotiation and agreement• Developing and implementing contract strategy • Identifying and providing strategy & advice on commercial risks and opportunities within the project• Risk management and change control• Provision of Pre & Post Contract Administration• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and delivery• Contract formation• Valuation Measurement, Cost control & CVR • Cost modelling and forecasting • Monthly reporting • Programme management and review • Supplier & sub-contractor agreements • Interim applications • Production and administration of claims • Variations and final accounts• Training, Coaching and mentoringExperienced in multi-discipline interaction and co-ordination with a particular emphasis on piping, mechanical, civils, E&I and structural works, having a good working construction knowledge of each of the disciplines. Equally experienced representing either client or contractor, providing a sound understanding and knowledge of the commercial and contractual complexities found within major projects. Working location, hours and patterns have been varied over my career having worked on a rotational basis for a number of years and equally on straight Monday to Friday and hybrid roles.
