Mark founded co2balance in 2003 assisted by a small group of friends. It\'s purpose was to provide an organisation to aid with the mitigation of climate change, using carbon offsetting as the primary vehicle to achieve this. Under Mark’s stewardship co2balance soon became one of the leading carbon management companies in Europe and was key and founding player in the setting up ICROA. As the market developed Mark saw the opportunity to extend co2balance’s reach and the opportunity to move further in to the carbon project developer space. To this end Mark identified the East African region as offering an opportunity to provide ethical and community based carbon offsetting projects. He established a company in the region in 2006 and since then co2balance has been instrumental in the carbon market of Kenya and the wider region.Today Mark as MD oversees the co2balanes global operations and ensures that it operates in an ethical and efficient manor
