ABOUT MARK REININK
It\'s been 9 years since I started as a Simulation Technology Specialist. These years have been great. While performing my job duties, I continually gain more knowledge of medicine. I am able to pass that knowledge on to the different groups I work with. In February of 2022 I became the Simulation Technology Assistant Manager at Grand Valley State University. I am learning new and different things about simulation in this new setting. Running numerous simulations at one time is an example. Using SP\'s in place of high fidelity manikins is another example. I have been a key player in starting an AHA BLS program here GVSU. I have also completed the process of becoming a Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) and Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE).I have 36 years of experience as a paramedic working mainly in Ottawa county, but also some in Kent, Allegan. and Muskegon counties. I am licensed by the State as a Paramedic Instructor/Coordinator. With this license, I\'m able teach inititial and continuing education to EMS providers. I regularly provide continuing education to local fire departments and private companies. I am certified as an American Heart Association instructor for BLS, ACLS, and PALS. I have been certified by the American College of Surgeons as a coordinator for ATLS courses. In the Spring of 2020 I was hired as a \"casual\" paramedic at Missaukee EMS. I worked at Missaukee in 1987 between my EMT Specialist and Paramedic terms at Davenport. This service provides care to the area where I grew up. I am grateful to have great EMS providers to work with.I am looking for new and better ways to do things in simulation and in medicine. Please share your ideas with me and look for my posts regarding new ideas or projects being used in education, simulation, & EMS.
