Reporting directly to the group CFO, formed new group BI team from scratch and replaced legacy, 3rd-party-maintained, Group Data Warehouse with a new, internally built and managed solution. Built in Microsoft Azure (primarily SQL Database, Azure Data Factory 2 and Data Lake Storage Gen 2) and using Microsoft Power BI Premium as the main reporting tool, this solution takes feeds from over 20 different ERP systems (SAP, Navision, Epicor, AS-400 and many others), the group CRM tool (SugarCRM), the group financial consolidation system (Hyperion Financial Management) and various other internally-/externally-sourced data to provide a single version of the truth for group strategic and managerial reporting. The new solution is in use by nearly 600 users across the group. Designed using the Kimball methodology, the new system was delivered incrementally to maximize value, with the first phase being delivered and in-use within 4 months of the original board approval being granted. Other elements of my role include:* Overseeing the strategic direction of reporting across the group;* Working with the business to define and develop standard content and naming standards to ensure consistency of management reporting;* Providing \'Centre of Excellence\' guidance and day-to-day support for reporting users across the company;* Defining and enforcing data governance and data quality management.
