ABOUT MARK NELLER

Mark is a Director at Arup, an international engineering consultancy, where he is the Energy Business Leader for the UK, India, Middle East and Africa Region. He is responsible for strategy and delivery of over £120m of multi-disciplinary consultancy income for energy clients, focused exclusively on work aligned with the transition to clean, affordable and reliable energy across both the public and private sector. He has been at Arup, based in London, for over eighteen years, working on many complex high-profile commissions for major energy clients, such as National Grid, DESNZ, SGN and RWE. During his early career he worked for both a gas network and electricity network operator, holding senior operational and construction project delivery roles, managing large teams of directly employed staff and contractors. He also led a number of business change and digital projects during this time. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Fellow of the Association for Project Management.He is a collaborative and inspiring leader with a strong track record for successfully developing and implementing strategies and plans that have delivered accelerated and profitable revenue growth. This has been achieved through a focus on: leadership and team capacity and capability building, creating a culture for high performing diverse teams; marketing and comms; client relationships and the development of digitally enabled consultancy services. He has an extensive network of contacts at executive level across the UK energy sector and is a regular speaker at major UK and international energy conferences.
