Munich, DE
I lead Fadata’s platform engineering function and serve as a principal architect for the INSIS platform. My role spans cloud strategy, runtime architecture, deployment automation, and engineering modernization. I build and evolve the cloud-native delivery model for INSIS together with platform engineers, covering Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes runtime patterns, observability, resilience, and scalability, while influencing product-wide engineering standards.• Lead platform engineering for cloud-native automation, runtime standards, and developer infrastructure• Designed FADSAAS, the automation engine deploying full INSIS environments from a declarative model; reproducible, DR-ready, and multi-region• Defined Kubernetes runtime architecture, including orchestration patterns, node-group strategy, autoscaling, and isolation models• Shaped platform architecture across deployment models, scaling, resilience, observability, and governance, and drove adoption of metrics, logging, and tracing standards• Built automation operators for lifecycle control and cost reduction• Drove cloud-first and automation-first engineering culture across development, product, security, and SRE• Advanced data sovereignty at platform level, including encryption-in-transit and the architectural integration of external key managementImpact & Value• Enabled INSIS to become a full SaaS product line and open a new revenue stream• Made INSIS V12 cloud-ready in a production-grade, scalable and observable manner• Reduced operational cost via lifecycle automation and cloud-native governance• Accelerated engineering velocity through standardized environments and reproducible deployments• Raised organizational maturity through IaC-first, automation-first and observability-first practices• Strengthened customer confidence in Fadata’s cloud strategy• Unified runtime standards across teams, improving consistency and reliability at scale

ABOUT MARK MUNTE
I’m an Engineering Leader and Principal Architect with more than 20 years of experience building enterprise platforms and leading large-scale modernization initiatives in the insurance technology domain. My background spans software architecture, cloud-native platforms, SaaS delivery models, and the full lifecycle of complex enterprise products.Across my career, I’ve developed a profile that combines strategic architectural leadership with a strong maker’s mindset. I define platform-wide direction, standards, and architectures — and I also build the automation, tooling, and runtime foundations that turn vision into operable systems. This ability to move fluently between strategy and execution has shaped every role I’ve held.At Fadata, I’ve led the transformation of the INSIS core insurance system into a modern, fully automated, cloud-native SaaS platform. In this role, I combine technical leadership with organizational influence: guiding platform and engineering teams, establishing architectural standards, and driving automation-first and platform-first practices across the product domain. My work spans containerization, Kubernetes-based runtime architectures, Infrastructure as Code, observability, deployment automation, and broader engineering modernization. At the core of my work is empowering engineering teams. I create clarity through shared technical direction, strong platform foundations, and well-defined standards that increase autonomy and confidence. Through close collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentorship, I help engineers grow while operating effectively in complex environments. I focus on fixing problems at their root, reducing operational friction, and building platforms that emphasize predictability, resilience, and reliability — so teams can move fast without relying on heroics. By aligning technical strategy with business and product goals, I help create systems that are built to evolve.
