About Mark Mecum

For nearly two decades I have had the privilege of leading a statewide network of community-based organizations in Ohio. Together, we are advancing the field of child and family services and building new opportunities for kids, young adults, and their families. Over the years we have expanded evidenced-based solutions for families and child treatment, successfully advocated for hundreds of millions of new dollars into the sector, and most importantly, further positioned community-based organizations for relevance, sustainability, and success.

   Ohio Children's Alliance

   I lead a statewide alliance of community based agencies that is building up Ohio\'s system of care for children, young adults, and families. I direct strategic initiatives of the alliance, its advocacy and lobbying, as well as development of collaborative partnerships. I represent the Alliance to state departments and the state legislature, establish policy agendas and advocacy campaigns, and lead development of legislation and policy to improve the quality of care for children. I assess trends, policy issues and fiscal concerns regarding child welfare, behavioral health, juvenile justice, and related sectors. Finally, I actively manage several membership advisory committees, task forces, and projects.
