ABOUT MARK MCFADDEN

I am a Chartered Surveyor and Partner at Property Consultants, SHW. My main specialism is the valuation of commercial and residential property, which involves a sound understanding of the local market, where demand comes from, drivers of the local economy, planning influences, legal obligations and restrictions and how any individual property or site is influenced by these factors, and many others. I am an RICS Registered Valuer. I am Eastbourne born and educated so know the town and surrounding region very well and have over 30 years experience of commercial and residential property in Sussex and across the South East. I joined SHW (then Stiles Horton Ledger) in 1987 (that long ago!) and after periods working in the Brighton and Crawley offices, returned to the Eastbourne office in 1997, where I have worked since, covering most of East Sussex and other parts of the South East. My experience encompasses the following: Valuations for banks, businesses, charities, local authorities and professional advisors on a comprehensive range of commercial and residential property throughout the South East. Advice for landlords and tenants on rent reviews and lease renewals on most types of commercial property and negotiation of rent and lease terms. Valuations for freeholders and leaseholders of flats for lease extensions and collective enfranchisement under the Leasehold Reform Housing & Urban Development Act 1993. SHW are members of ALEP, the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners. Expert Witness reports. I have provided valuations for litigation, including matrimonial, given evidence in the High Court and represented both landlords and tenants at Arbitration.
