My foundation of knowledge began in high school learning the skills to be a machinist, after several years working various machining jobs I found myself learning more fabrication type skills and welding. While working as a certified welder in a structural steel fabrication shop for nearly 8 years I made a decision to sit for the AWS Certified Welding Inspector exam. Once I obtained that certification the door was wide open. After holding positions with two other consulting/inspection firms I was able to obtain API510, 570, and 653 certifications. During this time spent as a contractor I sat for my National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Exam and received my commission as an In Service Inspector. After nearly 10yrs performing various project and emergency jobs at the Marathon Petroleum Detroit refinery I was hired as an Area Inspector. My 21+ years of experience varied experience from machining and welding to API650 tanks and structural steel, this wide base of knowledge sets me apart from others in my position.
