About Mark Maxwell
Mark Maxwellʼs paintings and illustrations have seen publication, exhibition, and broadcast both worldwide and off-world. Working primarily in aerospace and scientific illustration, Maxwell also works in science fiction publishing and advertising. This self-taught artist regularly depicts the past, present and future of space exploration in traditional and digital media. Private aerospace companies, NASA shuttle missions, as well as board, card, and video game developers and traditional publishers have all commissioned his work. Maxwellʼs painting “Promise” flew aboard the space station MIR in 1995 and 1996 as part of Ars Ad Astra, the first art exhibition in Earth orbit.Mark Maxwell is a Fellow of the International Association of Astronomical Artists
