ABOUT MARK LOCKLEY GAI

From the age of just 17 I have been forging a career in the ever-evolving world of architectural ironmongery, or door hardware for those of you that don’t stop and look at every door you pass through! Starting out as a warehouse operative, getting hands on experience of products, I have since worked in all areas of a business; sales office, accounts department, estimating, marketing, external sales, operations, management and finally as a director. Having achieved DipGAI status in the late 1990’s, I was a fully-fledged lover of anything fitted to a door.Having largely worked for an independent business, I have learned, and become passionate about, offering market leading service levels, with products that meet and exceed where possible relevant standards. I believe I have built up a strong network over the years by acting with integrity, a can-do attitude, going above and beyond, and having a real drive to help and achieve a common goal. I’m extremely passionate about creating high-quality products and driving excellence through strong product, technical, testing, and certification expertise.Now, As MD of Selectrite, I have joined a small, independent family run business which has a real genuine passion for going above and beyond at its core. The MK2 door coordinator for instance is the leader in its field, holding multiple certifications, and testing above and beyond requirements. Selectrite therefore aligns perfectly with me, as I enter the business at an exciting time. Selectrite have been trading for over 40 years and, as mentioned, remain a family owned and run business. Our flagship product, the MK2 door coordinator, is fully British made, something we’re proud of, as it has become quite rare in this industry over the years. Furthermore, we care about the industry, its important to us that we substantiate any claim we make and are looking to improve and exceed expectations all the time. Sustainability for instance is becoming prominent in the wider construction industry, and we are conscious of this, with changes made throughout the business already, and more planned.
