ABOUT MARK LEWIS

I’m a Financial Services technologist with 25 years’ experience as an engineer, architect, technical team leader, technology COO and CIO. I thrive in complex environments with demanding stakeholders, and diverse teams. I have demonstrated that I can deliver strategically in organisations focussed on growth or consolidation and under heightened regulatory scrutiny. Key achievements include:* Leading a global technology team of supporting 450+ platforms aligned to the Finance Function, including the bank’s Oracle Fusion instance.* Defining and mobilising a new data-centric Finance Technology strategy* Modernising and migrating key capabilities in the Finance and Risk architectures to Cloud-ready and Cloud-hosted technologies* Designing and mobilising a new Future State Architecture for the Group Treasurer alongside frameworks to enable EUC reduction and safe GenAI adoption* Repeatedly championing a culture of Engineering Excellence and implementing DevSecOps-focussed transformations, improving the delivery speed, reliability, and security of three major departments* Delivering key regulatory outcomes, including HKMA Trade Reporting, MIFIDII Trade and Transaction Reporting and Basel 3.1 compliance. I’m motivated by tackling the diverse challenges that arise when bringing together technology, business process and data in a changing environment. I have a proven track record of recovering struggling programmes, teams and platforms whilst also transforming fragmented modern and legacy architectures. I lead by mobilising and supporting teams to deliver a clearly articulated, customer-focussed technology vision using modern, Cloud-ready engineering and delivery techniques, embracing innovation – including low-code, user-developed analytics and GenAI, in a sustainable manner.
