ABOUT MARK LAW

Mark is Currently the owner and director of Capacity-building.co.uk a private practice supporting VCFS sector organisations. His most recent roles include Interim CEO of Centre4 in Grimsby North East Lincolnshire a role which came to a natural end as their new permanent CEO Tracey Good takes over. Mark will continue in a consultancy role with Centre4 for the forthcoming year. Mark role is the current Chair of Volition Leeds and former chair of Young Lives Leeds a partnership of VCFS providers of children, families and young people services hosted by Voluntary Action Leeds this also came to a natural end in April 2023. Mark continues to undertake a range of short term assignments and continue to be open to further conversation if you feel he could add value to your organisation or project. Prior to his semi-retirement Mark was a founding member of the team that set up BARCA-Leeds in 1994. Under Mark’s stewardship, grown into one of the larger third sector organisations in Leeds. Helen Hart has now taken on the role. BARCA-Leeds has, under Mark’s guidance, established a broad range of services that directly improve life outcomes for children, adults and their families. He has developed a personal reputation for successfully developing innovative and responsive community services in Leeds. Barca-Leeds continue to deliver a wide range of services including, FDAC (Leeds Family Drug and Alcohol Court), outreach work with critical care and the new Leeds wide Social Prescribing Services, Engage Leeds, Stronger Families, Working Well, Youth Work and Better Together including the coordination of the community response to the current pandemic. Mark has recently retired as a trustee and chair of Locality, a national membership network for community organisations who\'s role is to support community organisations to be strong and successful, to meet local needs and to give people a purpose, a good places to live and good health. Mark has been central to many of Leeds Adult and Children service developments. He has played a key role in the developing innovative responses to people who have multiple and complex needs. Mark, who also has a MEd (Management of Community Education), BA Hons in Community Studies, and Youth and Community Certificate. Additional roles have included non-executive director for the Leeds West Primary Care Trust, school governor, trustee for numerous charities, part-time lecturer for Leeds Beckett University’s.
