About Mark Knight
I have 30 years of law enforcement experience with the Travis County Sheriff\'s Office in Austin, Texas. I am currently a training academy instructor and captain of the Travis County Sheriff\'s Office Marksmanship Team. I am in charge of Law Enforcement In Service, Active Shooter LE Response, and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event. I wrote our department\'s Active Shooter SOP. I was a member of the School Resource Officer team from 2016 until 2020. I brought Stop the Bleed and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event training to several Travis County School Districts. I have taught over people Stop the Bleed, including 287 high school and middle school students. I developed and teach three other presentations: The Psychological and Physiological Response to Fear and Extreme Stress, Emergency Movement of Injured People, and Patrol Officer Response to School Campuses. I taught the Patrol Officer Response class to 100 Texas DPS Troopers for TCOLE credit. I doubled up as a high school teacher, during the 20••••18 school year, teaching Law Enforcement 1. I taught CPR and basic life support to all my students. I am currently assigned to the Travis County Standard Response Protocol for schools workgroup. I was a member of our full time SWAT team for over 13 1/2 years. I was a sniper for 13 years. I was also a breacher for 13 1/2 years and have breached almost 80 doors in live operations. I founded the Travis County Sheriff\'s Office Marksmanship Team in 2012 and am currently the team captain. The team has over 230 wins at local, regional, and state matches. I developed the SWAT team\'s vehicle assault S.O.P. and I was the vehicle assault instructor. I also teach firearms techniques, active shooter, building clearing, basic breaching, and rappelling. I participated in Alameda County, California\'s Urban Shield SWAT Competition in 2012, 2013, and 2014. The team came in in second place in 2014.
