ABOUT MARK JAMES

Hi! I\'m Mark. I am a Lecturer, Consultant, & Expert in Professional & Executive education, specialising in AI for Business, and Data/Finance/Management Literacy. My passion is in developing impactful, accessible professional education programmes that empower professionals to think critically and lead in the Age of AI. I am the lead Lecturer on the flagship Professional Diploma in Artificial Intelligence for Business at UCD Professional Academy - a programme I designed and developed many years ago and has since had thousands of students enrolled. I\'ve also created several other best-selling courses at UCD PA, including the Professional Diploma in Advanced AI, Advanced Excel, Data Analysis without Coding, and the UCD internal \'Foundations of Professional Education\' lecturer-training programme. Each course reflects my philosophy of teaching students how to think critically and make complex topics engaging and intuitive. I\'m also the programme developer and lead Lecturer on the \'Professional Certificate in AI Literacy: Practical Foundations for Professionals\' at the Digital Learning Institute - a programme designed to help professionals from across the US and Europe to integrate AI wisely into their roles and organisations. I have extensive Governance experience, having been Chairperson of an AI Committee, served on several University academic Committees, and as a Non-Executive Director. I have a strong understanding of governance frameworks and strategic decision making at senior levels. I am also the co-founder of two private businesses: 1. An AI corporate training firm that provides AI literacy programmes for professionals in specific sectors. An AI strategy consultancy firm helping organisations implement AI solutions strategically, ethically, and effectively, delivering clear returns on investment. Previously, I\'ve held several senior educational leadership roles, including Programme Director at the Irish Management Institute, where I created their first ever micro-credential (Finance for Non-Financial Managers), and Senior Teaching & Learning Executive at UCD Professional Academy. My work in these roles helped shape educational policy and strategy at two organisations who are leaders in Executive and Professional education in Ireland. My qualifications include a Research Master\'s in Financial Regulation, a first-class Postgraduate Diploma in Education, an Honours Degree in Management, & CIMA Strategic-level certified.
