   Chief Safety & Mission Assurance Officer (CSO) for the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) Radiometer, Radiation Belt Storm Probes (RBSP) and Solar Probe Plus (SPP). The CSO is administratively assigned to the Mission Assurance Branch, Mission Support Division, Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate (SMA-D). The incumbent serves as the SMA-D focal point for the SMAP Radiometer Instrument, as well as the RBSP and SPP Projects via the Living With a Star (LWS) Program Office and is responsible for directing and coordinating the development and management of the Mission Assurance Programs for the Projects. In addition, the incumbent supports Program level S & MA functions to include planning for upcoming procurements, developing S & MA requirements in terms of a program level Mission Assurance Requirements document, and support program solicitation and evaluation process. The mission assurance program includes reliability, quality assurance, parts control, materials and process control, environmental verification, system safety, contamination control, and design review of all systems and instruments. As CSO for RBSP, led a team of SMA engineers in supporting LWS Program Office culminating in a successful launch and commissioning of what became the Van Allen Probes in late 2012. Also led another SMA team through the successful Flight Model (FM) campaign of the SMAP Radiometer Instrument, which was delivered to JPL for spacecraft Integration & Testing (I&T) in May 2013.
