About Mark Hornung

An accomplished and versatile professional services Business Leader with a track record of strong leadership, quality service, operational excellence and outstanding business results as a service provider to the regulated (banking, insurance, medical device and healthcare) and non-regulated (consumer products, technology, agri-processing and manufacturing) industries. Prior to working with a group of partners in 2010 to start their own project consulting firm (Four Point Partners), which merged with CliftonLarsonAllen (“CLA”) in 2016, Mark spent approximately 29 years with Ernst & Young LLP (“EY”) from which he retired in 2009. Throughout his time at EY, where he was an Advisory Services partner and practice leader, Mark enjoyed a track record of increasing leadership and responsibilities, including roles serving as the Midwest Region Partner-In-Charge of the IT Risk and Business Risk Services Practices, and as a Partner in the Global Advisory Center where he led a team in development of the global advisory services methodology, and served on EY’s Global Risk and IT Risk Committees. Mark retired from CLA in 2019 where he was the national Managing Principal for the Business Risk Services business.Mark brings expertise as an audit committee financial expert, and experience gained from serving over 100 SEC public companies, and several large non-profits, in a variety of industries during his career. In addition to his general business knowledge and expertise in financial matters developed through his roles at Ernst & Young, Four Point Partners and CliftonLarsonAllen, boards also benefit from his work and leadership experience related to- Financial Statement Audit- Internal Audit- Enterprise Risk Management- SOX 404 - IT Process Improvement- IT Security and PrivacyHornung holds Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Accounting, Finance and Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
