About Mark Herther

I am CEO of AOG Resources, a leading aviation staffing firm. We recruit and employ experienced and highly skilled technicians that repair and maintain commercial aircraft. As an investor in the business, I maintain an owner’s mindset in decision making to drive the best outcomes for our customers and employees. Prior to AOG Resources, I was the Head of Transformation at Orveon Global, an Advent International portfolio company in the beauty industry. In my role, I was responsible for all aspects of the value creation plan including overseeing the carve-out of the brands from the prior owner, leading the PMO of all executive-level initiatives, strategy, M&A and supporting the CEO and board chairman on corporate governance. Prior to joining Orveon, I worked in a variety of operating, M&A, and strategy roles at both private equity and publicly traded companies. At The Riverside Company I supported the Micro-Cap strategy (RMCF), which was focused on control buyouts of companies with up to $10M in EBITDA. As a member of the operating team, I worked on initiatives that impacted 30+ portfolio companies. These projects include driving revenue acceleration, executive talent acquisition, and driving adoption of RMCF’s toolkit of best practices, templates, and checklists. Prior to joining The Riverside Company, I led Corporate Strategy for Hillenbrand, Inc, a ~$2B publicly traded diversified industrial company. I started my post-grad school career at L.E.K. Consulting where I was promoted to an Engagement Manager. I spent five years leading corporate strategy projects across a broad range of industries, collaborating with my colleagues to deliver solutions to our clients’ toughest, most critical problems. Prior to consulting I earned a JD / MBA from Northwestern School of Law and Kellogg School of Management, respectively. I am a member of the Illinois Bar. Before graduate school I spent five years in the healthcare industry as a pharmaceutical sales rep and reliability engineer for Eli Lilly. I completed my undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. While the majority of my work experience has been in the U.S, I have on-the-ground experience in China (~6-month resident), Germany, Switzerland, Brazil and United Arab Emirates. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two children. In the summer, we race our sailboat on Lake Erie in preparation of someday circumnavigating the Americas together.
