ABOUT MARK HAWDON

I have over a decade of experience within the construction industry. I began my career in the private sector as a Building Surveyor, working with a diverse range of clients including Local Authorities, private clients and NHS Trusts.I then moved to the North East Ambulance Service where I developed significant expertise in Estates and Facilities Management, overseeing a large, diverse and complex property portfolio. During that time, I gained valuable management and leadership experience, leading teams and driving operational and financial improvements.In 2024, I took on a new role at Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management (NHFM) where I lead the Capital Department. In this position, I am responsible for overseeing the delivery of large-scale, multi-million pound capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, all within an extremely challenging and often live hospital environment. Additionally, I am part of the senior management team, contributing to strategic decision making and driving organisational growth and efficiency across the department and the wider business. My role combines both operational leadership and long-term planning to support the continued success of NHFM.
