   The Chief Technology Officer is the primary advisor to the CIO on mission, scientific, and technical issues related to information systems technology. The incumbent is charged with a continuing broad assessment of the current and future management and technology trends in software intensive systems, global net-centric solutions, open enterprise architectures and methodologies, web services, and grid computing.Acts as the interface and representative from TMA to the research and development community, both internal and external to the Agency, advises the CIO on research and development topics, including IT/IM development issues, and guides the assessment and introduction of technology into the TMA/DoD infrastructure and user specific products.Provides broad corporate planning leadership and guidance to TMA managers and IT/IM Specialists for critical projects and programs as designated by the Director, OCIO to insure IT integrity and consistency with corporate objectives. Reviews all new taskings to the OCIO that affect multiple programs to assess the capability of the Agency to respond within TMA mission, prioritization and resource constraints. The incumbent defines, leads, or oversees projects that synergistically combine the Agency\'s IT/IM resources into matrix management arrangements to accomplish mission and corporate objectives.
