Mark is the Head of Investigations at Trafigura, a role that he took up in January 2025. Based in Geneva and working at the direction of the Audit Committee and Group General Counsel, the role involves leading the Internal Investigation team, which has a remit to lead the investigation of significant matters; to manage the Speak Up process; to oversee the investigation of less material matters by other departments or local teams; and to pursue proactive forensic reviews in high-risk markets. Trafigura is a leading commodities group that connects vital resources to power and build the world. It deploys infrastructure, market expertise, and a worldwide logistics network to move oil and petroleum products, metals and minerals, and gas and power from where they are produced to where they are needed.Prior to joining Trafigura a Partner in the London office of EY\'s Forensics & Integrity Services department, where he specialised in the investigation of fraud, bribery and corruption, and regulatory issues, and regularly led internal investigations involving asset misappropriation, suspected IP theft and cyber breaches. Mark is a subject matter specialist on the UK Bribery Act and US FCPA, having carried out multiple compliance advisory assignments and investigations in these areas, many involving multiple jurisdictions.Mark has worked extensively in some of the world’s higher-risk operating environments, including LATAM and Africa, supporting Governments, Corporates, Private Equity houses and now Trafigura in the investigation of alleged wrong-doing, fraud risk assessment or in relation to pre-acquisition forensic diligence. Mark joined Ernst & Young in 1997 and gained five years of experience in the mid-market audit and corporate finance teams. After a year working in Australia, Mark returned to EY London in 2004, and worked in the Forensic investigation team until his departure in December 2024. Mark qualified as a Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) in and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
