ABOUT MARK FAASSEN
Mark is a partner in the Advocacy department of Gowling WLG\'s Ottawa office. His practice focuses on medical defence and health law, counselling health professionals in civil litigation, professional regulatory, and administrative law matters. Mark has advocated for clients before numerous administrative tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board and the Discipline, Quality Assurance, and Fitness to Practice Committees of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, as well as in several levels of the Ontario courts. He has represented clients at Coroner\'s inquests, and in hospital privileges and consent and capacity matters. Mark has published in the McGill Journal of Law and Health Blog, Queen\'s Law Journal, and the Supreme Court Law Review. Mark volunteers with local organizations, including as a member of the Ottawa Health Science Network Research Ethics Board for law and privacy, and the Haven Too emergency shelter for youth.
