My current role is the Service Manager for the Council’s Youth Justice Service, I provide strong leadership to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused, and cost-effective services through collaboration with strategic partners. I oversee the management, governance, and supervision of staff and practices, ensuring high standards and effective support for young people while meeting all mandatory, regulatory, and inspection requirements to help children and families reach their full potential.My key tasks include setting objectives, developing plans, and mobilising resources to meet the needs of children and families; working with the Youth Justice Board to guide service delivery; quality assuring casework to align with safeguarding best practices; and ensuring robust business intelligence to monitor performance. I promote information sharing across partnerships, manage compliance with national and local standards, and lead service readiness for inspections.Representing the service at local and regional forums, I ensure alignment with the Wirral Plan and contribute to cohesive service planning within the Directorate. I manage budgets, approve resource allocation, and secure grant funding to enhance service delivery while ensuring value for money and compliance with financial regulations. Strategically,I develop policies, influence service planning, and foster multi-agency partnerships to meet statutory obligations and drive long-term performance. I oversee HR functions, staff development, and asset management, ensuring efficient resource deployment and adherence to health and safety regulations. Through strategic decision-making, I lead autonomously, guide complex issues, and escalate matters when necessary to ensure positive outcomes for children, families, and stakeholders.
