Vigra Pipeline Spoolbase facilities, Norway, working on several different projects, activities include: Tally Rack: ensuring all pipes enter into the line in the correct sequence, inspecting internals before and after bevelling to make sure they are free from moisture, debris and foreign bodies. Measuring, recording and logging each pipe length and number into tally log, also carrying out percentage checks on bevel geometry; Front End Mainline Inspection: bevel & Hi-Lo fit-up checks, verifying and monitoring pre-heat and interpass temperatures, also using laser and camera for root inspection; Back End Mainline Inspection: verifying and monitoring interpass temperatures, visual inspection of finished welds, ensuring no undercut, smooth transitions, and acceptable cap profile, also marking off, monitoring, and auditing anode pad welding; preforming production weld and repair weld audits, ensuring all welding parameters in the approved WPS are adhered to and heat inputs are within specified ranges. Witnessing and carrying out spooling activities, tie-in weld audits, pipe in pipe, EHTF splicing, and verifying stork sequencing and markings. Also carrying out welder qualification approvals, making sure all parameters and heat inputs are within project specifications. Carrying out consumables checks; batch, manufacturer, product, type, and diameter to ensure correct consumables are used at all times.
