About Mark Devlin

Retired October 2017. I had over 30 years experience in Information Technology and a broad background that has required excellent technical and interpersonal skills. After holding business applications programming positions early in my career, I moved to consulting, and then into increasingly higher levels of management in the IT consulting sector. I have had the opportunity to build two Oracle Applications consulting teams, and eventually took over the ultimate responsibility for a 17 state region of an international consulting firm. After making a deliberate career change, I spent the last 3 years learning Business Applications Outsourcing operations as an Account Manager. This experience increased my knowledge of the hardware, networking, and telecommunications sides of IT, further rounding out my knowledge base. I now work at Exempla in two positions:1 - Epic Environments Manager - since Exempla is hosted be Kaiser Permanente, this position includes liaising with the KP National IT Support team for Exempla. Manage environments includes ensuring that all development and implementation efforts are supplied with access to the Test/Development/Staging Environments that they require.2 - IST Change Manager - this roles includes chairing the change control board for Exempla, running the weekly meetings, manageing IST Change policies, and continual imporvement of change processes with the goal of minimizing unscheduled outages.Specialties: Client Management in Managed Services, Consulting Management and Business Development, Team Building, Project Management, Healthcare Information Systems
