ABOUT MARK DAVIS

I am a senior academic leader and researcher with a sustained track record of grant capture, staff and project management, and impact delivery. I am Deputy Head of School responsible for Strategy and an experienced collaborator with private, public and third sector partners across a range of impact-driven projects. In 2010, I conceived, founded and then directed until 2020 The Bauman Institute international research centre. For 3 years, I was also Director of Building Sustainable Societies, a large strategic initiative to foster greater social science collaboration across campus, securing £10.7 million of external research investment. At this time, I co-authored the University’s ‘Social Sciences Strategy, 20••••21’ document, setting research priorities, KPIs and targets for colleagues across the Faculty.More recently, from over 120 submissions, I was one of the University’s ten showcased REF2021 Impact Case Study authors, due to my research that co-created CMIs / Local Climate Bonds with industry and public sector partners. My wider research has been supported by a series of research grants secured from the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme, UKRI, UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC), UK Government’s Inclusive Economy Unit (GIEU) and Friends Provident Foundation. I’m always open to conversations about ambitious academic research and leadership projects.More info at the following links:https://essl.leeds.ac.uk/sociology/staff/12/professor-mark-davishttps://relationalenergy.leeds.ac.ukhttps://baumaninstitute.leeds.ac.uk
