I started at CDM Smith as a GIS Specialist I and am now a GIS Specialist IV. Through my time here, I have worked on a variety of projects including GIS and field based work:GIS Accomplishments:Obtained GISP Certification.Developing and integrating CAD, survey, ortho photography, design drawings, shapefile, and Excel data into one cohesive GIS electrical utility geodatabase for multiple US Navy bases.Creating 22 x 34 standard CAD style GIS templates, now used by clients and CDM Smith alike.Converting data to and from InfoNET, CAD, Microstation, and Google Earth. Assisting with delivering a GIS based, comprehensive stormwater master plan for Greenville, SC. Performing QA/QC of data provided by sub-consultants and staff using Data Reviewer.Onboard and train junior staff. Coordinate directly with clients on project work and data acquisition. Field work accomplishments:Performing site supervision of contractors and project staff on NCDEQ Pre-Regulatory Landfills. Collecting air, water, and soil samples. Obtaining 40-Hr HAZOWPR certification along with Confined Space Entry certification. Supervised construction personnel, geo-probe rigs, and test pit investigations. Field verified water and sewer locations for engineering projects. Assisted engineers with NCDOT bridge inspections by keeping notes and recording photographs in WIGINS.
